The 9th ranked Connors Cowboys clinched their second consecutive Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference championship on May 3 with a doubleheader sweep of Arkansas Baptist 7-1 and 11-0 at Biff Thompson Field.
The Cowboys tournament games marked a 44-11 season and a 14-6 OCAC record.
Eric Kirkpatrick’s two-run home run, his eighth of the year, got the Cowboys the lead in the fifth inning of game one against Arkansas Baptist and propelled them to a win and on to a sweep of Arkansas Baptist,
Josh Hammill (8-2) gave up four hits and struck out six, with his only run an unearned run. Yariel Gonzalez had three hits and Kirkpatrick two hits.
Connor Garcia (3-1) got the shutout on a run-rule affair in the nightcap. Kirkpatrick, Tyler Fourkiller and Jake Borrego each had two hits in the victory.
